012013: BA in Graphic Design, BYU-Hawaii (Summa Cum Laude)
Graduated with a 3.87 and went straight to work. In school I was art director of the campus magazine (a weekly deadline, a team of designers) and ran web for four Hawaii radio stations. A year after graduating, the university hired me back to teach Art 433, Web for Designers.
022013 – 2020: Hawaii client work, and Illumio
Contract design and front-end work for Hawaii businesses (UHA Health Insurance kept me on for years) and, through Andersen Digital, Illumio: five years, two redesign/rebrands, and most of the front-end of an enterprise security company's website, including a resource center built to organize thousands of assets. Karen Andersen hired me in 2014. We still work together.
032015: Conversion Engineer, FareHarbor
A detour inside the booking platform my tour company still runs on: designing website templates for tour operators and A/B testing what actually converts. I have sat on both sides of that platform since.
042020 – 2025: Growth Web Development (AppZen, Avi, AppOmni)
My own consultancy. Lead front-end developer on appzen.com for two years (almost every page, including the ROI calculator), and rehired in 2022. A 200-plus-page rebrand of Avi Networks into the VMware brand. Full branding for Neve Health. Most recently AppOmni, front-end work through a signed 2024 statement of work.
05Founder: Active Oahu Tours (Kailua, HI, since 2013, run from Idaho)
A kayak and e-bike tour company I co-founded the year I graduated. I did the branding, the writing, the marketing, and then I built the systems the company runs on, so the days run from Kailua without me: bookings, campaigns, and back office on automation, with a team on the ground. My calls are the founder ones: contracts, and the weather policy set from the start: when conditions are bad, we cancel and refund. That is the business.
06Founder: Sentinel IT Asset Disposal & Logistics (Meridian, ID)
Secure IT asset disposal for Treasure Valley businesses: scheduled pickup, documented chain of custody, data destruction, responsible recycling. I visit small businesses first. They are the ones a truck and a straight answer actually help. This is the business that pays my mortgage, and it keeps my hands in real hardware.
07November 2025: full-time AI
When AI agents became production-viable I went all-in, on my own infrastructure, with my own businesses as the first clients. BeyondSaaS is the client practice (first engagement: Eden Group, a paid review that grew into a workshop). Prismatic Engine is the open-source auditable validation hypervisor, orchestration on the surface and validation at the core, running on any major OS or environment, and I grade it in public: 213 runs baselined, 46% completion, then the fixes; crash-class failures went from 44 to zero. agent-checkpoint, my checkpoint plugin for agent runs, is published open source. The Human Design Engine is a commercial API product. Same arc as always: figure out the need, build the thing, stay for the results.
